The Dear, series is a meditation on loss as well as a subversion of expectations surrounding communication, media boundaries, mark-making, and standard museal display. Each envelope in the series is sealed with a letter, thoughtfully written, within. The letters will never be sent, delivered, or read by anyone, asserting a boundary with the perceived reader/viewer. Each work in the Dear, series is titled after, and addressed to, a person with whom the artist no longer communicates.
